Chase does it again, hitting two homers tonight en route to beating the Mets in 11 innings. Ryan Madson pitched an effective bottom of the 11th to get his first save with Brad Lidge on the DL, his third save on the season. Great defense on both sides tonight, with Jayson Werth making an outstanding play in the 10th inning on a David Wright line drive. Overall it was a good game to watch besides the less than stellar start by Cole.
So far my predictions have been fairly accurate regarding this series. Unfortunately Johan Santana pitched into the 8th inning in game one even though he let up four home runs to the Phillies. The game was a higher scoring affair than I expected, which boded well for the Phils, but we ended up throwing the game away. Can’t do anything about that. Tonight was a weird game. So far Mets pitchers have three hits in the series and two RBIs, which makes no sense. I’m a little tired, it’s been a long week. Hopefully Jamie can pitch well tomorrow and we can take two of three in New York.

I think the Phillies will take the next game from the Mets and get ahead 4 games in the N.L. Just the way everyone is playing on the team it seems like nothing can go wrong. Except for Jamie. Lets hope he wont let up as many runs as our 2 previous starters. And come on, giving up 3 hits to the pitchers. Thats like better than J-Roll the past few weeks. But luckuly he has improved.

Well said. For some reason Jimmy isn't producing in the leadoff spot, and as Michael Barkann pointed out on Phillies Post Game Live, Jimmy was batting 5/8 in the 6 spot. If he doesn't start to hit in the next series then Charlie or Milt will have to work with him and throw him into different spots in the order or something.
