BroadStreetHero I guess pitching isn’t our weakness after all. Our 5 starters have gone a combined 5-0 with 35 innings pitched while allowing only 5 earned runs in the last five games. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pitching staff pitch that well.
After letting up 6 runs in his last outing, King Cole came home to sunny California and treated his family and friends, as well as Phillies fans to a gem. Cole pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 5 batters while throwing less than 100 pitches. What a start to a four game series against this “powerful” Dodgers lineup.
Some Notes on the Game:
- Cole Hamels pitches his 5th career complete game and gets the shutout
- Tonight’s shutout was the Phillies first one of the year
- Jayson Werth finally got the bat on the ball
- Carlos Ruiz continues to hit, while Jimmy Rollins continues to not hit (0 for 6 tonight)
- Dodgers fan suck. They come to the game late and leave early
- Who was Heidi Strobel’s (Cole’s wife) friend?
