In case you missed the 1st inning of tonight’s Phillies vs. Reds game, here are some stats from the inning:
- The Phillies scored 10 runs in the inning. This is the 4th time they have done this in their history.
- The Phillies sent 13 batters to the plate, and Ryan Howard was the only one to not reach base at least once.
- Shane Victorino, Greg Dobbs, and Chase Utley each hit a home run.
- Cole Hamels had his 3rd hit of the season, a 2 run double.
- Reds starter Johnny Cueto’s line for the game: 0.2 innings, 9 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 121.5 ERA.
- Cueto’s ERA for the season was raised from 2.69 (4th in the league) to 3.45 (17th).
As for the rest of the game, Cole Hamels has pitched excellent through 7 innings besides giving up a solo home run. The Phillies tacked on eight more runs to bring the score to 18-1. Jimmy Rollins is batting .526 (10-19) in his last 5 games with 5 walks and only one strikeout, hopefully a sign that he is out of his season long slump. Shane Victorino is making his statement for that 33rd roster spot on the All Star team with a 4-5 night and 4 RBIs.
