BroadStreetHero Congratulations Shane!
The Phillies now have their #2, 3, 4, and 5 hitters in the All Star Game. The results have been tabulated and Shane Victorino won the Final Vote for the 33rd spot on the NL Roster for the 2009 All Star Game. Brandon Inge won for the AL. Shane’s stellar play in the last few games is a primary reason for why he ended up winning the vote. Pablo Sandoval of the Giants was leading for a while, but Shane won in the end. With Carlos Beltran out of the game many Phillies fans believed that the Flyin’ Hawaiian would be an All Star because Charlie Manuel is in charge of picking Beltran’s replacement, but this is official.
In other news, Michael Barkann just reported on Daily News Live that sources in the Dominican Republic have stated that the Phillies have signed Pedro Martinez.

i think the Phils should sign Perdro. The worst thing that can happen is that he gives up like 5-6 runs. The way our offense is playing right now we could still win the game. Take a chance.

So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can’t resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
