With a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th Shane Victorino further added to his All Star candidate resume. The bloop single that he hit ended a very good ball game in favor of the Phillies, who won in walk off fashion by a score of 3-2. Ryan Madson pitched better than I’ve seen him pitch in a month, which is such a relief. This is what happens when the top of the order gets on base. The Phillies are back to their winning ways, 5-1 and in their last 6!
In other news, apparently the Los Angeles Dodgers are prepared to offer young phenom Clayton Kershaw in a deal to land Roy Halladay. This seems to be the most substantial offer for Halladay besides anything that the Phillies may be planning to offer. What do you think of Halladay, should the Phillies overspend to get him, and what would the ramifications be if he was dealt to the Dodgers?

although halladay would be a great addition, we would be dumb to give up Drabek, Happ, Donald and possibly more. I guess we shall see though because the blue jays really want a short stop and donald played for the usa in the olympics and is a top prospect.
I’d take a healthy Bastardo and possibly Pedro over what we would have to give up for Halladay. Who knows if Carrasco would be involved either haha
Nothing would make me happier than having a healthy Bastardo who has command of not only his lights out fastball, but also of another pitch like a slider or changeup. I believe he will be a top starter in the league if he can master a second pitch. As for Carrasco, I’m not sure how he will pan out due to his unsuccessful stint in the minors so far. The one thing with Donald is that the Jays like him, which bodes well for us. He will be a good short stop in the future, but right now we are set with Jimmy Rollins (although his performance this year hasn’t helped his cause).
Do you think Pedro still has anything left in the tank?
Has anyone performed better since the final spot of all-star voting began?
It is scary just thinking about Halladay being a Dodger. It would be very bad for the NL East since not very many teams are hitting well but the way the Phils are playing right now with J-Roll on a roll and Victorino playing like he is all we need is Howard to blast some HR out of Citizens Bank park which for Howard would not seem like a hard thing to do we could beat the Dodgers easily and give Halladay his third loss of the season.

Since voting started Shane has batted .500 (7-14) with 1 HR 5 RBI and 2 SB, which have only added to his stellar numbers all season. At 2:00 ET today Shane had the lead, and now that polls are closed we have to wait for the final numbers. I’m sure that the Flyin’ Hawaiian has earned a trip to St. Louis!
Here is a look at the other Final Vote Contestants in their last 3 games:
- Pablo Sandoval: 2-12 1 HR 4 RBI (He hit a Grand Slam)
- Matt Kemp: 7-12 1 RBI 1 SB
- Mark Reynolds: 1-12 4 Ks
- Cristian Guzman: 0-8 in 2 games (did not play yesterday)
In regards to Roy Halladay, so far I haven’t heard anything new today about him and the Dodgers, so I’m hoping that the rumor was just that, a rumor. One rumor I heard was Kyle Drabek and Jayson Werth for Roy Halladay. I don’t know how I feel about that one.
Valentin, you mentioned Ryan Howard needing to hit home runs. Maybe he is saving them for something that doesn’t matter like the Home Run Derby? We really need him to get going, although Werth has been great at picking up the slack lately.
hi,
how are you today
Super site, and nice text.
